Your baby at 19 weeks

A creamy protective coating called vernix caseosa is forming on the skin. The brain is developing specialised areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision and touch. If the baby is a girl, her ovaries already contain millions of primitive eggs.

Round ligament pain, backache and skin changes continue. You may notice movements more clearly when resting.
