Overview
Month 4 opens the second trimester, often the most comfortable stretch of pregnancy. Appetite improves, energy returns and your bump becomes noticeable.
Your baby this month
Your baby grows from about 9 cm to 13 cm and around 140 g. Fine lanugo hair covers the skin, the skeleton starts to harden, the eyes move, and the baby can make facial expressions.
Your body this month
Nausea usually fades. You may notice a stuffy nose, nosebleeds, bleeding gums and round ligament pain. Some women, particularly in a second pregnancy, feel the first flutters late this month.
